Today, I was late to work yet again. And I for once, I was glad to be late. Why? The reason why today I am glad to be late is because I got to read "Good Paper".
What the heck is "Good Paper"?
I was on my way to the train station @ Yishun. I was already rushing all out to go to work fast by avoiding people who walked slow and people who are just "in my way". I saw 2 guys distributing newspapers. And 1 of them is having this sign of "Good Paper" board hung over his neck. And I thought it was a newly launched paper line-up to Today's paper.
One of them actually handed me the paper graciously and I accepted when I was planing to escape from these distributors. The guy even smiled at me with a kind smile. Frankly speaking, the smile actually made my day although I did not smile kindly back to him. I gave him a small firm smile that looked like irritated smile to me, I guess. And I looked at the title of the paper: "Good Paper". What the hell? is what crossed my mind at that point of time. I actually looked at the last page of "Good Paper" and saw these Post-it sticky notes with a lot of very good messages. And DANG! I was hooked. I even told myself that once I got to work, I will read the paper.
What a good choice that I've made for the day...I read the entirely whole paper and even went to the websites stated on the paper. Suddenly the urge to volunteer arose in me again...I was even on the verge of bursting into tears when reading the paper. What's more Dr William Tan, my one and only one hero and example in my life, was featured in the paper.
I really loved "Good Paper" and I hoped that in the near future, for the next edition, these kind smile volunteers will give out "Good paper" to me again. This time round, I will give them a big, happy and kind smile to them and to top it up, a Thank You as well.
